Driving a Cleaner Future: Our Sustainability Impact

At New Life Plastics, used bottles are recovered and reprocessed into new ones, keeping valuable material in circulation and reducing the need for new plastic. Our aim is straightforward: to give plastic bottles a new life and to build a recycling model that supports a more sustainable future.

Bottle-to-bottle rPET

High-quality recycled PET flakes are produced for use in new bottles, helping to reduce reliance on virgin plastic and lower the overall environmental impact of packaging. As demand grows among both brands and consumers, rPET plays an important role in cutting carbon emissions and keeping materials in use.

Since launching in 2022, New Life Plastics has remained focused on responsible operations and steady, practical progress. By expanding processing capacity and improving how the facility operates, large volumes of waste have been transformed into materials with lasting value.

Environmental Impact

At the heart of the work is a clear aim: to keep plastic out of landfill and reduce its overall environmental impact.

Plastic waste diverted

To date, 11,649,291 kg of plastic has been processed—the equivalent of around 466 million 500ml beverage bottles.

Renewable energy generated

On-site solar panels have produced over 1 million kWh of electricity, contributing to cleaner, self-generated energy use.

Growing with Purpose

Progress is not only about scale, but also about how efficiently operations are run.

40%

Steady Growth

In 2025, we received around 40% more feedstock than in 2024.

39 Tonnes

Proven Capacity

The facility has processed as much as 39 tonnes in a single day – that’s around 1.5 million bottles and we still have capacity to do more.

38%

Reducing Internal Waste

Through tighter process control, internal waste was reduced by 38% over the course of 2025.

Looking Ahead

A local, closed-loop system helps reduce transport, supports local infrastructure, and keeps resources within Hong Kong. For example, all Coca-Cola 500ml bottles produced locally are now made using rPET processed by New Life Plastics—demonstrating how recycling can work effectively at scale within Hong Kong.

Building on this momentum, operations are being scaled to support an average increase of 500 tonnes per month, ensuring growing demand can be met. This ongoing effort shows that large-scale processing and responsible, efficient operations can go hand in hand—turning waste into a resource and progress into something measurable. Each bottle recycled helps reduce waste, conserve resources, and move towards a system where materials are reused rather than discarded.

Recycling sits at the core of the operation, with a strong commitment to maintaining high standards in recovery and processing so materials can be returned to use and kept in circulation. This is supported by a broader focus on responsible resource management:

Energy Optimisation

Energy use is continually optimised, with renewable energy generated on-site through solar infrastructure to reduce reliance on conventional power sources.

Water Circulation Management

Water is managed through an in-house circulation system and dedicated treatment plant to ensure efficient use and responsible processing.

Continuous Waste Reduction & Efficiency Improvements

Waste reduction remains an ongoing priority, with continuous efforts to minimise process loss and improve efficiency at every stage of operations.
